TYLER, July 15, 2013-- University of Texas at Tyler women's golf players Jordan Sloane and Megan Escoe have been named Women's Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars. Sloane and Escoe played key roles in the Patriots run to a NCAA DIII national runner-up finish.
The WGCA All-American Scholars for Division I, II and III were announced Saturday, with a total of 644 women’s collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50
Sloane, a Criminology major from Cypress finished her sophomore season by finishing in a tie for 22nd-place after firing a combined 319 at the 2013 NCAA Championships. She was also named the American Southwest Golfer of the Week in October.
Escoe, a freshman pre-nursing major from Hallsville registered two top-15 finishes on the season, including a tie for first-place at the UT Tyler Invitational in the fall.
