LONGVIEW, April 2, 2014-- Members of the UT Tyler men's golf team played at the LeTourneau Spring Classic on Monday and Tuesday, finishing in seventh-place. Junior Charly Graves led the way for the Patriots, finishing in a tie for third-place with a three-round score of 221.
UT Tyler shot a combined 939, finishing 50-strokes off the lead set by Concordia-Tx.
Graves, a Plano native, shot a 72 in the final round, placing him in a tie with Centenary's Jesper Thorsoe.
Sean Crisp was the next highest-finisher for the Patriots, finishing in 20th-place after shooting 78-82-75=235 for the tournament.
Alden Fortner shot a combined 241 (86-77-78) and finished in a tie for 34th, while Taylor Quiet (80-78-84=242) finished in a tie for 36th.
The Tornados finished first in the tournament with a combined 889, while Centenary (912) and Oklahoma Wesleyan (920) rounded out the top three.
Mississippi College (921), Louisiana College (926), Texas-Dallas (928) finished fourth through sixth, while UT Tyler, Texarkana College (941), Jacksonville College (952) and host LeTourneau (971) rounded out the top-10.
UT Tyler will play at the West Region Invitational, hosted by Southwestern, beginning on Monday, April 7 in Georgetown.
