PALESTINE, November 19, 2013—Palestine ISD will proudly watch three of their football players become members of college football teams next year, as each has already committed to a university.
Brian Thlang and Ben Luckett have committed to University of Monroe, while Jarrell Owens has made a commitment to Texas Christian University.
Head Coach Lance Angel says the young men have worked hard to get where they are. “This group was special just because when we got here, these kids were freshmen, and they’ve done a great job and were great leaders on the team,” said Angel. “The biggest thing these kids have done is taking care of their job academically, because that’s a big part of being able to go play college football. You gotta take care of the academic end of it, and all three have done a good job working hard at doing that.”
KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Angel about the players who have committed to universities, his prediction about further signings, and the future of his team. Click below for more.
