Piranhas' Crader, Hagen to attend 2013 SGA

PALESTINE, July 25, 2013--Palestine YMCA Piranhas Madison Crader, age 11, and Summer Hagan, age 13, will soon be on their way to Hershey-Harrisburg Pennsylvania to compete in the 2013 State Games of America (SGA). The girls, along with teammate Kacie Kimbrough, age 10, qualified for the honor to represent Texas by placing in the top three in at least one event during the 2012 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas Swimming Championships in Corpus Christi last summer.

The SGA is a biennial Olympic-style athletic festival beginning July 30, and ending August 1. An estimated 8000 athletes from forty-five states will converge in the Hershey-Harrisburg region to test their skills in thirty-four disciplines including everything from baseball to fencing, from disc golf to Karate, and from ice skating to wrestling. Opening ceremonies will include a parade of athletes, concerts, and fireworks.

The swimming venue will take place in the Central York High School 50 meter by 25 yard pool in York, Pennsylvania. Over 500 hundred swimmers are scheduled to attend.
