Men's Golf in 2nd after first day of ASC Championship

LUFKIN, April 16, 2013 -- The UT Tyler men's golf team is currently in second-place after day one of the 2013 American Southwest Conference Championship.  Trent Boudoin is currently the top performer after round one, shooting a combined 152, good enough for fourth-place.

The Patriots have shot a combined 626, just 11 strokes behind Schriener, who currently sits in first-place.

UT Tyler ended round one in third-place, but made a move, passing Texas-Dallas who the Patriots now lead by 10 strokes.

Buddy Hallman is currently in eighth-place after firing a 74 in round two, the second-lowest of the round.

Senior John Dukes is in a tie for 13th-place with a 159, while Joey Rippel is in a 15th-place tie with a 160.

Dayton Cargill shot a 163 on day one and currently sits in a tie for 22nd-place.

UT Tyler will try to repeat as ASC Champions with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m., today.
