LONGVIEW, January 28, 2014— LeTourneau University head women’s golf coach Bill Littlefield has announced the commitment of Emily McAllister to the 2014-15 roster.
McAllister, who is from Maypearl, Texas will graduate in May from Alvarado High School, joins the YellowJackets after a life that has been surrounded by the game of golf. For the last three years, she has been the top golfer for Alvarado where she was first team all-district as a junior and second team all-district as a sophomore. Plus, she is a two-time regional qualifier and team MVP. Off the course, she is the Vice President of the FFA Chapter at Alvarado, in addition to showing animals at livestock competitions throughout the state. Next month, she will be showing a steer at the Houston Livestock Show.
The Coach's Take: "I am very excited and happy to have Emily come to play for our women's program in the fall of 2014. She is very passionate about playing golf and will be an immediate impact player for us. Plus, she has excellent tournament experience, works continually to improve her game and is extremely excited to be a part of our LeTourneau program."
McAllister will join a YellowJacket women's golf team that currently has four freshman and will resume its season on Feb. 24 when they will take part in the Mary Hardin-Baylor Spring Invitational at the Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen, Texas.
