LONGVIEW, May 13, 2014--The LeTourneau University baseball team became the first team in school history to win an American Southwest Conference Tournament Title and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament with a 6-4 win on Sunday over Concordia University in Austin.
The YellowJackets (32-13) have advanced to the 2014 NCAA Divisional Championship Baseball Tournament and received the No. 6 seed in the McMinnville Regional. The host for the regional is Linfield College, who is currently the No. 1 team in the nation and the defending national champion. The YellowJackets will face the host Wildcats at 12 noon (Pacific Time) at Roy Helser Field on Wednesday, May 14.

Joining LeTourneau in the McMinnville Regional are Trinity, Cal Lutheran, Illinois Wesleyan and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Four of the six teams - Linfield, Trinity, Cal Lutheran and UW-Stevens Point were ranked in the latest D3Baseball.com Top 20 poll.
The YellowJackets were one of 38 programs to receiving an automatic bid for the tournament as conference champions. The regional tournament features a double-elimination format.
The eight regional champions advance to the NCAA Division III finals to be held at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin, May 23-27.
