Former Elkhart football player to play in All-Star Game Tuesday

ELKHART, July 21, 2014— Jeffery Wilson, former Elkhart football player who signed a letter of intent with the University of North Texas, will play in the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game on Tuesday, July 21, at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio.

Wilson (pictured with family members) enjoyed a brilliant career at Elkhart High School, rushing for over 5,000 yards during his Junior and Senior years. Stats during his Senior year include over 2,700 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns.

According to Elkhart Head Football Coach Sam Wells, selection for the game is very competitive process, and it is a huge honor to play.

“He’s fast…he’s a good size kid, a good size back that’s got speed,” said Wells. On his letter of intent with University of North Texas, Wells said, “He’ll just step right in and he’ll be familiar with what they do…I think it was a very good fit.”

“We’re excited. We’re looking forward to following him and him coming back some and visiting us,” said Wells. “We’ll just be pulling for him.”

The All-Star game will be televised on Fox Sports SW.
