Zero Tolerance operation results in 15 arrests

ANDERSON CO., August 26, 2013—On Friday, August 23, between the hours of 6:00 p.m., and 12:00 a.m., the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Frankston Police Department participated in a “Zero Tolerance” operation.

According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, this operation, which is repeated from time to time, consists of officers making stops for every observable traffic violation.

During the operation, Officers performed 66 traffic stops, and 15 people were arrested. Most of the arrests were for charges relating to no driver’s license or no insurance. However, Sheriff Taylor reports that one arrest was for Possession of Marijuana – less than 2 ounces; two arrests were for Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (K-2), and one man, identified as Waylon Thomas Barton, age 18, was arrested on an outstanding Henderson County warrant for Sexual Assault on a Child.
