World Wear donation bin helps provide funding for Anderson County D.A.R.E. program

ANDERSON CO., September 12, 2013—The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office recently partnered with Meals on Wheels to move an existing World Wear donation bin to its new location at the Anderson County Senior Center.

The donation bin, part of the World Wear Program, provides benefit in a number of ways. The items donated are made affordable and available to people domestically and internationally who might otherwise be unable to afford such items. In addition, the World Wear project pays back for the placement of the bins, giving much-needed funds back to Anderson County.

According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, the funds generated from the placement of the bin are used to help support the Anderson County Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.

KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Sheriff Taylor about the donation bin, the generated funds, and the importance of the D.A.R.E. program. Click below for more.
