PALESTINE, September 10, 2013--The Westwood ISD School Board had a meeting Monday night, to discuss the hiring of a new Principal.
According to Westwood Superintendent Dr. Ed Lyman, the Board decided to accept applications for the position from all interested parties. Westwood ISD will be putting together a screening committee and, as a subset of that committee, an interview committee to interview the top five candidates. A recommendation will then be made to Dr. Lyman, who will follow up with personal interviews.
“We hope to have a candidate for Board approval in November,” said Dr. Lyman. “It is the toughest job in the public education business. But you get someone good…and your high school will flourish.”
KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Dr. Lyman about the process, as well as updates on current and upcoming construction, and the Guardian Plan. Click below for more.
