PALESTINE., September 26, 2013—The search is underway for a new Westwood High School Principal. According to Westwood Superintendent Dr. Ed Lyman, the Board and special committees are about half-way through the process.
Twenty-six applications were received for the position by last Friday’s deadline. The Screening Committee met on Monday afternoon to review the applications and selected four candidates to be presented to the Interview Committee.
The Interview Committee will hold interviews on Sept. 30, Oct. 1-2, and Oct. 7.
“If the Interview Committee feels like they have good representation and that…the High School Principal is in that group of interviewees, then we will have a follow-up interview and I will present the final candidate to the School Board,” said Dr. Lyman. “We’re excited. We did have some quality applicants…They’re all very highly qualified individuals and so we have a good pool of candidates.”
KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Dr. Lyman about the search, the application and interview process, and an update on current construction projects. Click below for more.
