Westwood ISD Update 8-12-14

PALESTINE, August 12, 2014—With the start of school just around the corner, Westwood Superintendent Ed Lyman discusses the recent release of district ratings by the Texas Education Agency (T.E.A.).

According to Superintendent Lyman, the district met or exceeded standards in many areas. The Junior High and High School exceeded state standards in academics, while the elementary did fall 5 points short of the state standard in Yearly Progress. Lyman says steps are being taken to improve in noted areas.

KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke to Superintendent Lyman on district performance, summer improvement projects, additional iPad approval, budget and public hearing information, and more. Click below to hear discussion.
