W. Oak traffic accident leaves one dead, two injured

PALESTINE, March 29, 2013--A traffic accident which occurred last night in the 1200 block of W. Oak, has left one dead and two critically injured.

According to Palestine Police Sgt. Gabriel Green, Palestine Police Officers were dispatched to the scene of an accident at approximately 9:24 p.m., last night.

Sgt. Green stated according to the report of all witnesses, a Chevy Blazer veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford F250.

Two people were taken by CareFlite to a nearby hospital, and one individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Sgt. Green said he believed the deceased individual was the driver of one of the vehicles, but declined to release more information at this time.

Identities of the victims are being withheld, pending notification of next of kin. More information will be released as it becomes available.
