Update on shooting at Club Tangeria

PALESTINE, May 7, 2013--The victim of a shooting which took place early Monday morning, at Club Tangeria, is still in critical condition, according to Palestine Police Sgt. James Muniz.

Police were called to the scene a little before 3:00 a.m., when a caller reported a man had been shot. Police and EMS arrived on the scene and found the victim on the ground in front of the club. Initial information from witnesses indicated the victim had been sitting in a car in front of the club at the time of the shooting. Witnesses also reported that a midsize car drove by and three to four shots rang out. The victim was hit in the arm and abdominal area. The victim was transported to a Tyler hospital by air.

The victim is reportedly from the Fort Worth area. According to Sgt. Muniz, his name is not being released for security purposes.

The investigation is ongoing, and currently police have no known motive, and no arrests have been made. “At this point we have not made an arrest, but we feel confident we will be able to make an arrest at some point,” said Sgt. Muniz.
