United Way Literacy and Learning Festival slated for Aug. 16

PALESTINE, August 13, 2014— The United Way will hold a Literacy and Learning Festival and Launch Party from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., at the Palestine Public Library, at the Palestine Mall, on Saturday, August 16.

The purpose of the event is to bring the community together and reiterate the importance of keeping children engaged and instilling competent literacy skills and a lifetime love of learning.

The event is free of charge and geared toward children in grades Pre-K – 4. The event will include fun children’s activities, free books, and reading circles.
