Tyler Public Library hosts Spring Book Sale March 13-16

TYLER, March 9, 2014— The Tyler Public Library will host its Spring Book Sale in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium, Thursday, March 13, through Sunday, March 16.

“We are selling adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books, as well as audio books, videotapes, vinyl records, encyclopedias and textbooks,” said City Librarian Mary Vernau. “All items are priced at $1 or less. For this sale we will have large sections on religion, history, sociology, politics, law, travel and the arts.”

Items for sale include donations which do not meet the Library’s current needs and worn resources that have been withdrawn from Library circulation. Library staff and volunteers have been sorting and preparing sale items for months.

“All proceeds from our sales go toward the purchase of new or replacement items for the Library’s collection,” said Vernau. “We expect to have thousands of items on hand, nearly all of them new to this sale.”

The sale area will be open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m., and Sunday, 1-4:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, adult hardback books are priced at $1 while paperbacks and children’s books are just 50¢. On Sunday, cardboard boxes will be provided that can be filled for $10 and paper grocery bags to fill for $5. There are no previews of sale items or early sales.

Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. More information about the sale can be found on the Library website at www.TylerLibrary.com or by calling 903-593-7323.
