TYLER, March 28, 2013-- Don’t eat all your Peeps®. The Tyler Public Library wants you to put your Peeps® on display by making a book-based diorama for National Library Week 2013, April 14-20.
Entries will be accepted between Monday, April 1, and Friday, April 12. There is no entry fee.
“We think Peeps® are the perfect medium for a diorama, and I can’t wait to see what the creative minds of Tyler come up with,” said City Librarian Mary Vernau. “All entrants will receive a toothbrush, provided by R. Britt Ruby, DDS, in recognition of their hard work, their creativity and the inevitability that Peeps® were consumed during construction.”
This contest is open to Library cardholders of all ages. If you don’t have a library card, it is free and easy to obtain. For more information on obtaining a library card go to the “I Want To” menu on www.TylerLibrary.com. Entries must be accompanied by an official entry form that can be picked up at the Library, 201 S. College Ave. or downloaded from www.TylerLibrary.com.
Library staff will judge entries based on originality, overall appearance, use of Peeps® and difficulty of design in three age categories: youth 5th grade and below, Youth 6th – 12th grade and Adult. There will also be a People’s Choice Winner for the diorama that receives the most votes from the public during the display period.
