Tyler Police search for Food Fast robbery suspect

TYLER, September 3, 2013--On August 30, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Tyler Police officers responded to a Commercial Robbery at the Food Fast gas station, 6424 S. Broadway, in Tyler.

Upon their arrival, store employees advised that a black male entered through the front door. Once inside, the suspect grabbed one of the workers and demanded money from the cashier. He had his hand covered with some type of rag or shirt and there appeared to be a gun underneath. An undisclosed amount of money was placed inside a bag, and the suspect fled the scene eastbound, behind the store. 

Just before the robbery occurred, one of the employees observed an older model, white, 4 door sedan parked behind the building. The suspect’s face was concealed with a light colored stocking cap. The employees were unharmed during the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, between 5’8-5’10’’ tall, approximately 150 lbs, with black hair. He had a goatee and was wearing a dark brown sweater, and dark pants. 

At this time, there is no further information pertaining to the case. This incident is still under investigation.
