Tyler police arrest man for Robbery of CPU Store

TYLER, April 4, 2014--On April 3, at approximately 3:35 p.m., Tyler Police Officers responded to a Robbery at the CPU Store located at 201 Rice Road, in Tyler. 

The suspect, identified as Bernard Mitchell, a white male, 72 years of age, was upset with the service that was provided. Mitchell walked around the store counter and assaulted the Store Manager. Mitchell struck the manager several times to the head with his fist. The manager sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. After the assault, Mitchell stole two computer motherboards from the store while leaving.

Mitchell sustained a laceration to his head from the incident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Mitchell was arrested and will be booked into Smith County Jail for Robbery. He was charged with Robbery due to the fact he committed an Assault during the commission of a theft.
