Tyler PD investigates robbery at Cambridge Apartments

TYLER, February 17, 2014— On February 15, at approximately 10:07 p.m., Tyler Police officers responded to the robbery of an individual that occurred at The Cambridge apartment complex, 3088 Old Omen in Tyler.

Upon arrival, officers contacted a Domino’s Pizza Delivery driver, who advised that he had just been robbed at gunpoint. The victim said he was walking up the stairs to one of the buildings, about to deliver a pizza, when a thin, black male wearing a hoodie approached him. The suspect retrieved a black semi-automatic handgun from his pocket and ordered the victim to hand over all of his money and food. The victim immediately complied and then ran away. The suspect fled the scene in the opposite direction.

The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, and was wearing a dark hoodie. He is between 20-30yrs old, and is approximately 6’00’’ tall.

The complex and immediate surrounding area was searched by officers, but the suspect was not located.  At this time, there is no further information. This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crime Stoppers at 903-597-CUFF (2833).  Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
