TYLER, October 9, 2013— The Tyler ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) department will host a unique event for all District middle school students and their parents on Thursday, October 10, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., at the Harvey Convention Center, 2000 West Front Street.
The ‘Your Future Is Now’ event will showcase various career pathway options, certifications and licensures available to high school students through the CTE program. Pathways include Agriculture, Architecture, Audio/Visual Technology, Automotive Repair, Business, Construction, Criminal Justice, Education & Training, Engineering, Health Science, Hospitality, Information Technology and Welding. The CTE program is available to students at both Robert E. Lee and John Tyler high schools.
The event will also introduce parents and students to Tyler ISD’s AVID, Advanced Studies and Fine Arts programs. Representatives from Texas College, Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler will also be available to provide information and answer questions about the college enrollment process.
