Tyler ISD joins other districts across the state to celebrate Texas public schools

TYLER, March 18, 2014— Tyler ISD campuses are joining other districts across the state to participate in “Celebrate Texas Public Schools Week” through a variety of activities planned to encourage parents and the community to become more involved in education. The special week also provides the opportunity for campuses to showcase the wonderful programs offered through Texas public schools.

Beginning Tuesday, campuses will host a variety of activities throughout the week ranging from parent receptions to read-a-thons and student-led campus tours. Please contact your campus directly to learn more about the fun activities they have planned.

Texas Public School Week was established in 1950 by the Masonic Lodges of Texas to recognize contributions made by the state’s free system of education. The Texas School Public Relations Association has promoted this annual celebration for more than 20 years. Each year, the event has grown and it continues to be a meaningful way to showcase the many education opportunities given to the millions of students who attend Texas Public Schools.
