Tyler Chamber, getIT to host golf tournament

TYLER, April 20, 2013--The Greater East Texas Information Technology Group (getIT) and the Tyler Chamber of Commerce Technology Committee invite the public to participate in the 1st annual golf tournament to support the Technology for Students Scholarship Fund, providing financial assistance to students pursuing a career in technology.

In a 4-person scramble, players do not have to be a “pro” to win. Players may bring their own foursome, or may be paired with others to create 4-person teams. Each player tees off. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is selected, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed on the green.

The event will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Hollytree Country Club, 6700 Hollytree Drive, in Tyler. Registration and driving range practice will be held from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The shotgun start will be at 1:00 p.m., and the Awards Party and open bar will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
