TxDOT road work update 9-16-13

ANDERSON CO., September 16, 2013— Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to make base and pavement repairs in various locations on US 287 between Elkhart and the Houston County Line, and on FM 319 between SH 294 west of Elkhart, and the end of state maintenance in Redtown. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

Other area TxDot work planned for surrounding areas this week:

VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform base and pavement repairs in both directions on Interstate 20 between FM 17 and FM 1255 northeast of Canton, and near FM 314 south of Van. Once that work is complete, the crew is scheduled to perform the same work on SH 64 between Myrtle Springs and Wills Point. Elsewhere in Van Zandt County, TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to make base and pavement repairs on FM 1805 north of Van. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone. Looking ahead to the week of September 23, TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to begin pavement-repair operations on US 80 in Grand Saline between the western city limits and Waldrip Street.

RUSK COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform base and pavement repairs on FM 1798 southwest of Henderson between FM 839 in McKnight and FM 225 in Laneville, and on FM 839 between FM 1798 and US 79. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue resurfacing operations on FM 2137 between FM 344 south of Bullard, and FM 855 west of Mount Selman. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

SMITH COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue edge work on FM 2710, between FM 16 east of Lindale, and FM 14. Elsewhere, TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to resurface FM 838 between SH 135 north of Arp and the Rusk County Line, and a second crew is scheduled to make base and pavement repairs on SH 155 in Winona. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

GREGG COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue shoulder work on the US 259-Kilgore Bypass between the south end and FM 349. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue pavement repair and resurfacing operations on FM 1615 between SH 19 south of Athens, and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
