Two arrested in connection with burglary of habitation on FM 1817

ANDERSON CO., December 17, 2013—On Monday, at 3:00 p.m., Anderson County Deputies responded to the 4000 block of FM 1817, in Elkhart, regarding a burglary in progress.

According to the complainant, he had arrived home to find a Ford Mustang with white racing stripes in his driveway, and a male and female subject inside his home. When the resident called the Sheriff’s Office, the suspects fled the scene.

Anderson County Deputy Howell arrived on scene and spoke with the homeowner. Deputy Taylor arrived and stated he was familiar with the vehicle. Deputy Taylor searched for the vehicle and found it in the driveway of a home in which both of the suspects were located.

Items from the burglary were located inside the residence, and Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kerrie Lyn Teems, age 33

The two suspects were transported to the Anderson County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a 2nd degree felony, and Theft of a Firearm, a state jail felony.

Sheriff Taylor commends Anderson County Deputies for quick action, and urges the community to pay close attention this holiday season and report any suspicious activity.
