CHEROKEE CO., April 9, 2013— On April 5, Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department made two arrests in connection with the burglary of the City Hall building in Wells, Texas.
On November 26, 2012, deputies were called to the scene at City Hall, where subjects had broken out the glass front entrance door and entered the building. Once gaining entry to the building, the suspect)s) stole an undisclosed amount of cash, checks and money orders, along with damaging some of the contents of the building.
Arrested in connection with the burglary are William Todd Pounds, age 47, and Joshua Kerry Rains, age 27, both of Wells.
Investigators arrested both Pounds and Rains at the residence in Wells, and charged them with Burglary of a Building, which is a State Jail Felony offense and is punishable by confinement in a state jail facility for a term not more than two years or less than one hundred and eighty days. In addition to confinement, an individual adjudged guilty of a State Jail Felony may be punished by a fine nnot to exceed $10,000.
