Trial for third suspect in Mr. D's robbery, shooting set to begin next week

PALESTINE, August 22, 2013—According to Anderson County Criminal District Attorney Doug Lowe, the trial for Jhamerrick Miltion, the final suspect in the Mr. D’s robbery case, is set to begin next week.

Milton is charged with Aggravated Robbery for his role in the incident which took place at the store in August, 2012. Three suspects were charged in the early morning robbery, during which Fred Robinson, a 62 year-old store clerk, was shot in the face with a .22 caliber rifle. Robinson was hospitalized and later discharged. According to police, Robinson has since passed away, but the cause of death is not believed to be related to the incident.

Three suspects, John Nicholas Hicks, Anthony Robert Mrdjenovich, and Jhamerrick Milton were arrested in connection with the crime.

According to D.A. Lowe, the cases of Hicks and Mrdjenovich have already been disposed. Hicks was sentenced to 10 years, and has since been released on probation, and Mrdjenovich received a sentence of probation.

Milton’s trial is set to begin next week. He is charged with Armed Robbery, which is a first degree felony and carries a sentencing range of 5-99 years.
