TPD investigates robbery of Tyler Cab driver

TYLER, February 17, 2014— This morning, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Tyler Police responded to 3900 Troup Hwy, on a report of a robbery of an individual. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was a taxi driver for Tyler Cab.

The victim advised that he had just purchased food at the Taco Bell at that location. He drove next door to the Time It lube and parked behind the building to eat his lunch. While there, he was approached by a black, male subject. The suspect produced a handgun and forced the victim out of his vehicle. He then demanded the victim’s property. After taking the property, the suspect took the keys to the cab and fled the area west on Lindbergh. The victim was not injured during the offense.

The suspect was described as black male in his mid-twenties, 5'08, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue and white bandana around his neck, a tight blue shirt and blue jean shorts. He displayed a chrome semi-auto pistol with black grips.
