JACKSONVILLE, May 19, 2017--Tomatoes are ready and the 33rd Annual Tomato Fest Salsa Contest is one spicy event happening on Saturday, June 10th, sponsored by Gourmet Gardens. Over $400 in cash prizes will be given to the best of the best Salsa recipes. The Salsa Contest will be Saturday, June 10th during the annual Tomato Fest. Entries can be dropped off the week of Tomato Fest at the Chamber office located inside the Norman Activity Center, 526 E. Commerce, Jacksonville or the morning of the festival located inside the Norman Activity Center, 526 E. Commerce, between 9:30 – 10:30 am. The categories are $75 each for 1st Place for Poetically Pico, Mildly Mannered, Magnificently Medium or Hallelujah Hot and 2nd Place each receive $35. Winners will be announced at 12:30 pm main stage under the overpass. Entries must be submitted in glass jar with clean, rust-free lids along with entry form. Entries accepted from all ages and any community. The recipe and hot sauce entry becomes the property of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
