TYLER, August 22, 2014- Tyler Junior College’s premier performance group Harmony & Understanding is tuning up for the 2014-15 year.
This year’s roster includes: Mark Becker, Jacksonville; Julianne Casey, Tyler; Irene Duran, Jacksonville; Michaela Ellis, Tyler; Hanro Janse van Rensburg, Kempton Park, South Africa; Kelsey Kilgore, Flint; Jamichael Kilson, manager, Tyler; Kristina Manzer, Gun Barrel City; Tara Moore, Lindale; Erin O’Quinn, Tyler; Johanna Ramsey, manager, Winnsboro; Justin Redmond, Red Oak; Nick Sheffield, dance captain, Tyler; and Carsen Whiteside, sound tech, Tyler.
Director is Professor Andrea Trent.
The group has spent the last week in “Harmony Camp,” rehearsing for the upcoming season.
Their first performances of the year will be at opening day of the East Texas State Fair on Friday, Sept. 19, and the College Night Main Stage performance on Thursday, Sept. 25.
During the fall semester, Harmony & Understanding will perform for local civic organizations including the annual fund-raising event for Tyler’s Breckenridge Village.
Their annual Pops Concert with the TJC Jazz Ensemble is set 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday, November 20 and 21, in Wise Auditorium on the TJC main campus.
