TYLER, September 20, 2013-- Three Tyler ISD teachers, Mark Ledyard and Randall Speights of Robert E. Lee High School and Ines Suanzes of Birdwell Elementary School, have been awarded scholarships to attend the Council for Economic Education (CEE) National Conference October 3 through October 5, 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland. The scholarships will cover $1,200 in conference expenses for each recipient, including registration and hotel. The scholarship program is funded by the Western Union Foundation through a grant from the Council for Economic Education and the Texas Council on Economic Education.
“We’re looking forward to learning new information, and bringing back resources we can use to improve our students’ foundation of economic understanding,” Ledyard said.
The CEE Conference is a nationwide annual gathering of educators including K-12 teachers, college and university professors and Federal Reserve partners. The conference features a diverse selection of presentations, workshops and events to enable educators to raise the levels of economic and financial literacy among K-12 students.
