ANDERSON CO., May 19, 2014—Three suspects are behind bars after a joint effort between the Anderson County and Henderson County Sheriff’s Departments uncovered a burglary ring, according to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor.
According to Sheriff Taylor, a burglary occurred in March on CR 4631, which sparked the initial investigation. Anderson County Sheriff’s Department investigator Tolliver was assigned to the case. Tolliver began working with Henderson County Sheriff’s Office when they noticed similarities between the March burglary and burglaries which had taken place in Henderson County. During the investigation, three suspects were identified and arrested.
Darryl Hodge, age 38
John Bevel, age 25
Michelle Vaughn, age 31
All three were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and are being held in the Henderson County Jail with bonds set at $75,000 each.
According to Sheriff Taylor, the three are suspected of being involved in multiple burglaries in Anderson County, Henderson County, and throughout the East Texas area. Additional charges are likely to be added.
“It takes luck, hard work, and persistence to solve these burglaries, and sometimes the citizens help,” said Sheriff Taylor. “It was good to get them off the street, and we’ll be trying to put pieces together to get them with more crimes.”
