Texas Transportation Commission to meet Thursday in Tyler

TYLER, November 18, 2013--The Texas Transportation Commission, TxDOT’s governing body, is scheduled to hold its regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m., Thursday, at the R.B. Hubbard Center, located at 304 East Ferguson in Tyler.

As part of routine business, the commission will approve the monthly statewide letting, which includes officially awarding the contract for the West Loop 323 expansion to six lanes between Bellwood Drive, and West Front Street, in Tyler. The project, which is scheduled to begin in February, includes rebuilding the railroad overpass in that location.

At the conclusion of all other agenda items, the commission will allow an open comment period, not to exceed one hour, to receive public comment on any other matter that is under the jurisdiction of the department. No action will be taken. Each speaker will be allowed a maximum of three minutes. Speakers must be signed up prior to the beginning of the open comment period.

For more information on the commission, log on to the TxDOT website, www.txdot.gov or call 512-305-9526.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.

HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform spot-resurfacing operations in various locations on SH 198 near Log Cabin, and on RM 2329 in and around the intersection of FM 3054. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

WOOD COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform ditch work on FM 2869 near Holly Lake Ranch. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
