Texas Renaissance Festival to open this weekend

TODD MISSION, October 11, 2013--The Texas Renaissance Festival, held weekends and Thanksgiving Friday, beginning Oct. 12 through Dec. 1, immerses guests into a kingdom filled with folklore, artisans, entertainment, feasting and jousting.

Located just outside of Houston, in Todd Mission, Texas, the country’s largest and most acclaimed Renaissance Festival takes guests back in time to interact with royal courts, pirates, fairies, musicians and even barbarians. The Festival is the largest Renaissance-themed event in the nation and is an interactive theme park that embraces different eras, including the 16th century and beyond.

The 2013 Festival opens with a harvest celebration in true German style themed as Oktoberfest. Arrive when gates open at 9 a.m., to be personally greeted by the King himself.

 The Festival is designed to entertain people of all ages, including children and adults. Children ages four and under are admitted free.

Opening weekend is Oct. 12-13. The Festival is held every weekend Oct. 12 – Dec. 1, including Thanksgiving Friday. The event is held at the Texas Renaissance Festival grounds at 21778 FM 1774 Todd Mission, TX 77363
