Suspicious car in cemetery results in methamphetamine discovery, arrest

ANDERSON CO., August 4, 2014— This morning, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy W. Dean observed a suspicious vehicle in a cemetery located on Hwy 287, north of Elkhart.

When Deputy Dean approached the vehicle, he observed one male occupant and one female occupant. He also noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of approximately 15.8 grams of methamphetamine. The male occupant, identified as Joshua Bruce Woodworth, age 33, of Elkhart, admitted ownership to the controlled substance. Woodworth was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4-200 grams.

The female occupant was released at the scene.
