Suspect arrested in connection with Kim's convenience store burglary

ANDERSON CO., August 29, 2013—A suspect has been arrested in connection with the burglary of Kim’s convenience store, no. 6, which occurred on August 17.

According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at Kim’s, on August 17, at approximately 1:41 a.m.

When Deputies arrived, they noticed a glass door had been broken. The store owner was contacted and, upon inspection, reported a large quantity of cigarette packages had been stolen.

Investigator Ronny Foster was assigned to the case.

On August 28, a warrant was issued for Elias Martin Prieto, age 18, in connection with the burglary. Prieto was taken into custody in Elkhart, without incident.

Prieto has been charged with Burglary of a Building, a state jail felony, with a bond of $35,000. He remains jailed at this time.
