TYLER, January 13, 2014-- On January 10, at about 9:09 p.m., the Tyler Police Department received a 911 call concerning a female that had been shot in the face at 1007 Loop 323 N NW, (Rose Valley Apartment Complex).
Responding officers located the victim, identified as Armis Barnes, 25, from Tyler, lying just inside one of the apartments; no other person sustained injury as a result of this incident. Once located, Armis Barnes was immediately transported to the East Texas Medical Center by EMS personnel and taken to surgery with non-life threatening injuries.
Major Crimes and CSI Investigators were notified and responded to the scene while patrol officers detained and identified several other individuals found inside the apartment, including a K.J. Wilson-hurd, age 20. Following a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant for K.J. Wilson-hurd was issued and he was taken into custody. K. J. Wilson-hurd was transported to the Smith County jail and booked-in for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon with a $500,000.00 bond.
