Step Up & Scale Down classes to begin Jan. 27

PALESTINE, January 9, 2013— Just in time for your new year’s resolution of a healthy lifestyle, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the Palestine Resource Center will launch a new 8-week weight loss program.      

The program will consist of:

Weekly lessons to help you manage weight

A weekly weight check-in

A weekly challenge to help you “stay the course”

Dinner Tonight! healthy recipes and eating tips

Exercise resources

A Weight-Loss planner with a food journal and exercise tracker

The first class is Monday, January 27. Classes will meet weekly for 8 weeks. Classes will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude by 12:50 p.m., at the Palestine Resource Center. The cost is $25 for the 8-week program. A healthy lunch will be provided at the first and last classes. Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch for the other classes.

Those interested must pre-register, by January 24. To register, go to the County Extension Office or mail a $25 check, along with your name, address and phone number to:  Anderson County Extension Office, 101 East Oak St., Palestine, Texas 75801. Make checks payable to: Program Development Fund

Step Up & Scale Down is a researched based program that has proven success in weight-loss and the increase of healthy lifestyle habits. It is a great program to do with a friend or family member.
