Southside VFD to hold Fall Festival, Silent Auction

PALESTINE, October 17, 2013—The Southside Volunteer Fire Department will hold its first annual Fall Festival and Silent Auction at the Station, located on FM 322, in Palestine, on October 19, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

“We’re just putting a little fundraiser together, more or less to get to know the community and let the community get to know us,” said Southside V.F.D. Assistant Chief Jeremy Warren. “So many times we’re called out to emergencies; we really don’t get a chance to visit with them. It’s just an opportunity for us to get to know them and them to get to know us.”

Games and candy will be available for children, and Silent Auctions will also take place. Silent auction items include a lamp made from an oxygen tank, Sander’s Tire gift certificates, gift baskets, and more.

Tickets are available at the door for $0.50 each, or buy a bundle and save. Proceeds go toward equipment for the Southside Volunteer Fire Department.
