Smith Co. fires highlight continued need for fire safety

ANDERSON CO., September 10, 2013—Extremely dry conditions have led to a dangerous situation involving potential fires. Over the weekend, 350 acres burned during multiple grass fires in Smith County, destroying some homes and making evacuation necessary for many.

According to Alan Fox, Law Enforcement with Texas A&M Forest Service, the lack of rain continues to increase the chances of fire danger.
