Seven arrested in Anderson Co. drug bust

ANDERSON CO., February 26, 2014--Seven people have been arrested as a result of a drug bust carried out this morning by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Unit.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., this morning, the Tactical Team made entry into a residence at 222 S. Church Street, apartment #5, while executing a narcotics search warrant.

During the proceeding investigation, the Tactical Team had made several controlled drug buys at this address.

While executing the search warrant, authorities located an undisclosed amount of cash, approximately 6 grams of methamphetamine, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, as well as numerous power tools which had been stolen from a burglary on Feb. 23.

Seven people were arrested during the warrant execution. They are:

Abel Estrada – age 21 – Palestine

Hilario Gonzales, Jr. – 20 – Palestine

Kyle McCauley – 19 – Palestine

Christina Gonzales – 17 – Palestine

Michael Gardener – 26 – Palestine

Scott Harkcom – 24 – Palestine

Taylor Bauman – 20 – Gatesville

All seven suspects were charged with Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, penalty group 1- 1-4 grams, in a Drug Free Zone, and Engaging in  Organized Criminal Activity, In addition, Scott Harkcom has an additional charge of Violation of Parole, and Kyle McCauley was also charged with Evading Arrest or Detention.

The suspects are being held in the Anderson County Jail and are awaiting arraignment.
