Second annual 'Juneteenth Black Rodeo' set

HENDERSON COUNTY, May 17, 2013–The Henderson County Black Rodeo Association (HCBRA) will be hosting the second annual 'Juneteenth Black Rodeo' at the Henderson County Fairplex complex in Athens, on Saturday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m.

More than 300 cowboys will be part of the rodeo this year, and, according to the Real Cowboy Association, they are "coming to town to shut it down."

Calf ropers, bull-doggers, and the longest line dance in Henderson county are all part of the planned festivities. Live entertainment will be provided by Cupid, who will be performing his new hit single "Doing it with your boots on."

HCBRA rodeo queens, kings, and the stampede will be attending the after-party at Eddy's.

Tickets for the second annual Juneteenth Black rodeo are available at Lone Star Western and Casual Wear, Cavender's, and Baskins in Athens.

Sponsorship packages are available according to Henderson County Constable Daryl Graham, media representative for the HCBRA, and those interested can contact Toni Johnson, HCBRA CFO, at 214-394-0224 or Jeffery Enoch Sr., HCBRA CEO, at 903-275-9468.
