Search for Jacksonville Economic Development Director continues

PALESTINE, May 1, 2014— Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation has been searching for a new Economic Development Director since former Director Darrell Prcin announced his resignation at the end of February.

The position was posted on the Texas Municipal League website, as well as the State Economic Development website. According to City of Jacksonville Finance Director Freddie Thomas, the Board of Directors received 15-20 applications which they narrowed to 6 or 7 possible candidates. Phone interviews will be conducted over the next couple of weeks and then the Board will further narrow the list at a follow-up meeting. At that time, 2-3 candidates will be invited to Jacksonville for an on-site interview.

KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Thomas about the position and the importance of the Corporation and a good economic base. Click below to hear more.
