SCSO puts out alert on suspicious man in minivan

SMITH CO., September 19, 2013--The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for an older model, possibly a 2002 or 2003, silver or gray minivan, occupied by a Hispanic male wearing a ball cap pulled down over his face.

In the early morning hours, the subject has been frequenting areas with school bus stops occupied by young females.

Earlier, he approached a young female and fled the area at a high rate of speed when adults attempted to make contact with him. That incident occurred at Highway 110 South, and County Road 2228.

Anyone who sees this vehicle and suspect should call 911 or the Smith County Sheriff's Office at 903-566-6600.
