LONGVIEW, October 2, 2013— The City of Longview is inviting residents to once again submit photos of life in Longview and East Texas. Submitted photos of the Longview area may be used for the City of Longview’s 2014, Calendar of Services and Events as well as for other projects.
“This is the second year that we will be using resident-submitted photos for the City’s printed calendar. By using photos from people throughout the community, we hope to create a calendar that reflects the various seasons, parks, neighborhoods, landscapes, artwork, activities, and people that make Longview a great place to live,” says Shawn Hara, Public Information Officer.
The print calendar will be distributed via water utility bills to City of Longview customers and will also be available at City of Longview offices. The calendar will include information about City Council meetings, Sanitation and Recycling schedule, Parks and Recreation events, and other City of Longview events and activities.
With the photographer’s consent, the photos may also be used on other City of Longview communication tools such as LongviewTexas.gov, CityView Municipal Television, or other print or electronic publications.
Photos must be submitted by November 1, 2013, to be considered for the calendar. The calendar layout will feature photographs in an 8.5”x3.75” space, so horizontal-oriented photographs are preferred. Photos may be submitted online via Flickr on the Real East Texas Living Photo Project, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or in person at City Hall, 300 W. Cotton St. For more information, contact Shawn Hara at 903-237-2733 or visit LongviewTexas.gov.
