TYLER, September 9, 2013--Robert E. Lee (REL) Dads, a division of the Robert. E. Lee High School PTA, kicked off the school year with a luncheon in the school’s library to brainstorm fun and engaging activities the group plans to hold on campus throughout the year. The goal of REL Dads is to provide positive, male role models for students and to help make students aware that dads also care about Robert. E. Lee High School.
“We need to see a lot of positive role models on campus,” REL Dad Chris Pulliam said. “It is important for men to engage in our schools and in our children’s lives.”
REL Dads will be on campus approximately once a month to interact with students during lunch periods. Ping-Pong tables, washer boards, and basketball shooting contests in the court yards were just a few of the activities discussed during today’s meeting.
For more information on REL Dads or to participate, please call Chris Pulliam at 903-830-5302.
