Real-World Treasure Hunting in Tyler with geocaching

TYLER, October 13, 2013— The Tyler Parks and Recreation and GIS departments will host a “Geocaching” introduction on Thursday, Oct. 17, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the pavilion at Rose Rudman Park.

The introduction will cover the basics of geocaching, including what it is, how to do it, equipment needed, tricks of the trade and more. Meet geocaching enthusiasts and learn about this treasure-hunting craze.

During the introduction, the City will unveil a number of sponsored geocaches and discuss travel bug objectives with Sister-Cities.  There will be a mixture of traditional and micro-caches in use.

Door prizes, drinks and snacks will be available.
