Ramey Elementary students take aim at Guinness World Record in sport stacking

TYLER, November 13, 2013— It will be cup crazy on Thursday, November 14, as thousands of participants across the world, including students from Ramey Elementary School, take part in the 8th annual World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA) STACK UP! - or what Guinness World Records terms the “World’s Largest Sport Stacking Event.”

Over the course of the record-setting day, sport stackers from around the world will be up-stacking and down-stacking various pyramids for at least 30 minutes, all combined with a variety of fitness activities.  Sights are set on 500,000 stackers participating in the event.

To take part in STACK UP!, schools and organizations were required to register 25 or more stackers with the WSSA.  Once a group completes the 30 minutes of stacking for each participant, the organizer and a witness are required to send in an online verification of numbers to the WSSA, who will pass on the total count to Guinness for official recognition.
