CHEROKEE CO., April 3, 2014—The Agri-Business Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber recently donated funds from the 2013 Annual Hay Show & Sale. The Cherokee County Soil & Water Conservation and the Cherokee County Exposition Center each received $2,643.57. The Cherokee County Scholarship Fund received a total of $5,287.14. The donations were possible due the annual Hay Show & Sale held in October, 2013.
The annual Hay Show & Sale collects hay samples from Cherokee County hay producers and the top 30 bales of hay is auctioned in October, raising scholarship funds for youths of Cherokee County. The Cherokee County Scholarship Fund presented five $1,000.00 scholarships during the Annual Cherokee County Jr. Livestock Show which was March 27 – 29. A total of 13 scholarships will be given from proceeds of the Annual Hay Show & Sale.
The 2014 Annual Hay Show & Sale will be Tuesday, October 21.
Serving on the Agri-Business Committee are Roland Adams & Charles Dickerson, Co-Chair, Debbie Kerzee (Community Development Division Chair), Kris Sturrock (Chair of the Board), Tam Nannen (Chair Elect of the Board) and committee members Aaron Low, Randy Gorham, David Butler, Bruce Mehlenbacher and Bryon Underwood.
